Attachment to “Not-Enoughness”
Attachment to “Not-Enoughness” is Blocking you from Everything You Want.
Several years ago, I read the book The Mastery of Life, by Don Miguel Ruiz, Jr. In the book, he talks about how we get attachments to certain things or beliefs throughout our lives, and that these attachments keep us from living fully.
I realized then that the attachment to “not-enoughness” is probably the most common attachment in most people.
So many of us are attached to feelings of “not-enoughness.” We doubt ourselves, or have imposter syndrome. We think we have to earn acceptance and love by being impressive. We try to protect ourselves by seeming perfect. We compare ourselves to others. But all of this is rooted in the attachment of “not-enoughness.”
And it’s not true. It’s a lie. It’s a lie that we get attached to because we learned it from some childhood experience and we believed the lie and carried it with us forever.
But you can know with 100% certainty that it is a lie. So now you can set it down.
Let go of ever thinking you are not enough.
And while you’re at it, let go of thinking you don’t have enough. You have enough time, enough energy, enough money, enough ideas.
If you were to just notice where this attachment to “not-enoughness” is at the root of everything that’s holding you back in life, you’d be free forever.
