The Secret to Getting What You Want

Are you approaching life with problems to fix and gaps to fill, or are you just blocking your light?

This secret is a shift that can change everything, especially if you feel like the next level of what you want is always slightly out of reach.

I’m sure you’ve heard about “manifesting” and the “law of attraction,” but do you really understand what it’s all about and how it works?

It doesn’t work if you try to “get” something, because this means you are in need, or lack, and that the way you are now is not complete or enough.

Starting with a problem or deficit aligns you with lack. And what you align with you get more of.

It would be as if you were walking around trying to fill in missing gaps in who you are. It would be like trying to fill the holes of Swiss cheese.

But there are no missing pieces. You are whole, not filled with holes that need to be filled or problems that need to be fixed.

This may happen to you when you set a goal, especially a goal that has been escaping you for some time. You may think you need to work harder or try harder, or there is something that you need to fix about yourself to achieve it.

But starting with a problem in this way just aligns you with the problem, which takes you farther away from your goal.

Instead, you need to “shine to align.”

The way it really works is much different. You are already whole, complete and magnificent.

Picture yourself like a bright beaming light, radiating out into the world, shining and sharing your glow with others.

But sometimes your light bulb can get covered in dust. And when this happens, you’ll find that you continually encounter all the things you don’t want. You’ll be aligning with the dust on other dusty light bulbs, lack, problems and recurring patterns of things you don’t want.

The only thing that can stop you from aligning with all the other bright and radiant things in life is if your light gets blocked somehow.

What blocks your light?

Picture any form of self-protection or need to control as the dust that blocks your light from shining brightly.

You block your light with all the perceived “problems” you think you have. Your radiance gets blocked by self-doubt, fears of rejection and any mistaken beliefs of lack.

When you think you don’t have enough ________ fill in the blank with time, money, friends, love, credentials, etc., this forms a dusty layer over your light because you try to protect yourself from the world seeing your perceived flaws.

You hid. You dim. You feel shame.

We all do this at points in our lives, but if you have chronic struggles of trying to “get” something that always feels out of reach, this could be why.

You can shift your perspective about yourself and shine your light to align with your greatest good.
