How do you know it’s time to declutter your life?
How do you know it’s time to declutter your life?
Here are some signs that decluttering your life may bring you the clarity you need.
1. Physical Clutter
The most obvious signs are physical clutter. This could look like a closet full of clothes that you never wear, a desk where you can’t find what you need, or a refrigerator full of expired foods. But physical clutter can be a symptom of overwhelm and stress, and it’s a sign that decluttering your physical surroundings could be the first step to freedom and clarity.
2. “Time Bankruptcy”
How do you know you’re in “time bankruptcy?” You’ll know if you’re always running late, or if your calendar is booked so full that you don’t have any unscheduled free time. Time is your most valuable resource, and if it’s being taken by people and commitments that you aren’t fully saying yes to, you may need to declutter your life.
3. Lack of focus
If you’re always multitasking, this could mean that you are trying to focus on too many things at once. Multitasking stresses out the brain and doesn’t save as much time as we think it does because we usually have to do some of the tasks over because of lack of focus. It may be time to declutter some of your tasks and reprioritize.
4. Stress
If you’re feeling stressed out, overwhelmed, anxious or depressed, it may be time to declutter your life.
5. Health problems
Health problems are often a sign that you need to declutter. When taking care of your health is pushed to the back burner, it’s time to declutter your life.
