What do you wish your inner critic would stop saying to you?

Everyone has an inner critic. And you might not recognize that critic’s voice.

You might confuse that inner critic with the voice of your intuition, but it’s not your intuition.

Everyone has both an inner critic and intuition, but most people never hear the voice of their intuition because the voice of their inner critic is too loud and takes up too much mental space.

Here are some ways you can tell the difference between your inner critic and your intuition.

1. Your inner critic can be mean. It tells you things that are mean, critical or subtly dim your greatness. But your intuition is kind always. It’s never going to tell you that you can’t achieve your dreams, or that you are not good enough.

2. The inner critic can be loud. It’s going to try to alarm you with noisy, fear-based warnings. But your intuition is quiet. It’s calm, and it often whispers. It’s not going to yell at you. It’s steady, calm and reassuring.

3. Your inner critic thinks it’s helping by holding you back from doing the things you want to do. The inner critic tells you all the reasons why something isn’t possible, or why you might fail and why failing is shameful. But the voice of your intuition tells you the opposite. It says, “you know what you are meant to do and I’m here with you every step of the way.”

4. Your inner critic tells you everything that’s wrong with you or isn’t “good enough.” Your inner critic is a liar. Your intuition tells you that you are here for a reason, and who you are is exactly perfect in every way.

Once you can see that the inner critic is not your intuition, you can tell it to be quiet. What do you want to tell it to stop saying to you?
